St. Oliva

Not much is known about St. Oliva (or Olivia) of Brescia, Italy. She was a holy virgin who lived in the second century AD and was martyred during the reign of Emperor Hadrian. She died in 138 AD and was canonized pre-congregation. She is honored in both the Greek Orthodox and the Roman Catholic Church and her feast day is commemorated on March 5th. The name Olivia comes from the Latin word for olive. This St. Oliva is not to be confused with St. Olivia of Palermo who lived in the ninth century and has her feast day on June 10th. The relics of St. Oliva are venerated at St. Afra’s church in Brescia. If you are looking for a stained glass window or door panel in honor of St. Oliva, then we would be happy to help you.
