St. Ava
St. Ava was born in France in the ninth century AD. Her father was King Pepin, also known as Pepin the Short, and he was the first Carolingian King of the Middle Ages. St. Ava was miraculously cured of blindness through a saint called Rainfredis. She went on to enter a convent and became a Benedictine nun. Later she was appointed as abbess of the convent. Before the process of canonization was established, she was proclaimed a saint at her death by the people who knew of her holiness and devotion to God. Her feast day is April 29th. Stained glass art of St. Ava often shows her as a beautiful young girl with dark hair.
