St. Thomas

St. Thomas the Apostle was also called Didymus, meaning “The Twin”. He is often remembered as “Doubting Thomas” as he questioned Jesus’ resurrection when the other disciples told him of it. However, after seeing the risen Lord with his own eyes, Thomas made his confession of faith with the words: “My Lord and my God”. Stained glass art of St. Thomas sometimes shows him with a builder’s square which denotes his profession as a builder. He is thus the patron saint of architects. Other Catholic works of art for St. Thomas include a spear which represents the means of his martyrdom which took place in 72 AD. It is believed that he took the Gospel to India and there are still believers there called the St. Thomas Christians. He is the 19th most popular saint in the USA with 266 Catholic churches named after him. Are you looking for a stained glass window or door panel showing St. Thomas, or the Cross of St. Thomas?
