Our Lady of Guadalupe

Our Lady of Guadalupe, also known as the Virgin of Guadalupe, refers to the Blessed Virgin Mary who appeared in the sixteenth century to a humble native Mexican man by the name of Juan Diego. It is said that she caused roses to appear on a hilltop, and when Juan had picked the roses and carried them in his cloak, afterwards the cloak was imprinted with a beautiful image of Our Lady of Guadalupe. This cloak is enshrined in Mexico City and is visited by thousands of pilgrims each year. The image of the Virgin of Guadalupe is also seen in stained glass and many forms of Catholic art. She is considered the patroness of Mexico and the Americas, and is also venerated by Native Americans. Replicas of Juan Diego’s cloak are found in thousands of churches worldwide. The feast day of Our Lady of Guadalupe is December 12th. Stained glass windows and door panels depicting Our Lady of Guadalupe are available in various options.
