St. Claudia
St. Claudia was a first century saint and the mother of Pope Linus. Her father was the British King Caratacus who was defeated by Aulus Plautius and held in chains. When the Emperor Claudius released him, his daughter took the name of Claudia and was baptized in Rome. In the second Biblical letter of St. Paul written to Timothy, he mentions Claudia. According to records regarding Pope Linus, the son of St. Claudia, his father is named as Herculanus. Linus was the second bishop of Rome and the second Pope. His papacy lasted from around 67 to 79 AD. His mother St. Claudia is commemorated on her feast day which is August 7th.
