St. Anthony of Padua Stained Glass

St. Anthony of Padua is often depicted in stained glass with a book and the infant Child Jesus. He lived from 1195 to 1231, and was born in Portugal but worked in Italy. He joined the Franciscan Order after being deeply impacted by the death of five Franciscan martyrs. He is a much loved and admired saint, who was canonized less than a year after his death, and became a Doctor of the Church. His teaching of the Catholic faith was in such simple but profound terms that anyone might understand it. In fact, the teachings from his tongue were so perfect that when his body was exhumed many years after his death it was found that his tongue had remained intact. Saint Anthony died at the young age of 36. He is referred to as the “finder of lost articles” and his feast day is June 13th. When you are planning to build or remodel you church, if you wish to include stained glass panels of St. Anthony, Stained Glass Inc. can help you find what you are looking for.
